Release Details for May 5, 2026

Here are the important features released in Sibme's May 5, 2026 release.

Web Platform

  • Goals

    • New Goal Creation Process

      • The Goals creation process has been redesigned. The order has been reversed — you now start with the Goal itself, then add Action Items, and finally add Goal Owners and Collaborators. This makes the process more aligned with how a Goal is typically planned and helps differentiate the pages for creating the Goal versus those for Action Items.

      • Other changes you'll see during creation:

        • A new icon in the Goal Description (and Action Item Description) lets you insert files from your Workspace, Resources, or Library directly into the description.

        • A new Sync Action Item start/due dates with Goal setting replaces the old date-warning modal. It is on by default — Action Item dates start prefilled with the Goal's dates, and you can change either.

        • A new Action Item option, Goal Owner: View Only, lets a Reviewer or Evidence Collaborator complete an Action Item while the Goal Owner just reviews what was done.

        • A new Measurement option, Use Avg PL, reports the average Performance Level rating from any Frameworks attached to the Action Item — including those in Forms, Videos, Audios, or Resources.

        • When you add a Group to a Goal, each Group member is now added individually as a Goal Owner so you can assign different roles to different members.

        • Huddle Goals follow the same flow with a new Huddles & Roles step replacing the old Roles step.

    • Group Goal Is Now Optional

      • You can now turn Group Goals on or off for your Account. Account Owners and Super Admins will find the new Turn Group Goals On setting at the bottom of Account Settings → Goals Settings. The setting is off by default, which simplifies the Goal creation flow — you'll go straight to Individual Goals without the "Who will own this Goal?" step. When the setting is on, the option to choose between Individual or Group remains as it does today.

      • The Type field on Goals Reports adjusts to match: when Group Goals are turned off, only Individual and Archive show as Type options.

    • Filter Bar on the Active Tab

      • The Filter Bar is now available on the Active tab in Goals — both from the main Goals menu and within Workspace and Huddle Goals views. From the Goals page, you can filter by Goal Title, Description, Goal Owner, People, Groups, Roles, Categories, Location, Status, Custom Fields, and Dates. From Workspace and Huddles, the available filters are scoped to that context.

      • Users who have permission can also manage Categories from the Active tab — either from the gear icon in the Categories filter or from the new Manage Categories option in the more menu.

      • A new Goal Owner column has been added to the Active tab table, showing the Goal Owner's Avatar and name. The Collaborators column now shows stacked Avatars only.

        • Note: The Status filter has moved from the icon dropdown into the Filter Bar. The icon dropdown now contains export options only.

  • Forms

    • Spellcheck in Forms

      • Spellcheck is now active when you fill out or build a Form. Misspelled words are highlighted as you type, and right-clicking any highlighted word shows suggested corrections. Spellcheck is available across Form fields — including Form Title, Description, Headings, Text Field labels and inputs, Text Area labels and inputs, Details labels and inputs, File Picker labels, and the Form Template rename modal.

    • Custom Fields in the Filter Bar for Parent/Child Accounts

      • Custom Fields are now available as filters in the Forms Reports Filter Bar for Parent/Child Accounts, matching the Custom Fields filtering already available on Goals Reports. This gives Account Owners and Super Admins more flexibility when filtering Forms Reports across child Accounts.

  • AI Insights

    • Frameworks on Multi-Artifact AI Insights

      • You can now apply a Framework when running AI Insights on multiple Artifacts. After selecting your Artifacts and clicking AI Insights, a new Optional Framework dropdown appears at the bottom of the modal. Choose any Framework from your Account (the default Framework is listed first), and that Framework will be used for the AI Insights session.

      • Once you continue into AI Insights, the chosen Framework appears at the top of the Context pane with its size shown so you can see how it factors into the context limit. A more menu lets you swap to a different Framework or remove it.

        • What this means for you: You can look at multiple Artifacts through the lens of the same Framework without affecting any previously tagged or rated Framework data — each AI Insights run is its own session.

      • Sibme's has four new Multi-Artifact Insights Prompts available this week to help synthesize a year's worth of evidence into a summative report. These reports can help find evidence for the effectiveness of classrooms, coaching conversations, PLCs, even School Board meetings! Select multiple Artifacts in your Workspace and Huddles and choose AI Insights to check them out today!

        • Instructional Practice Summative Synthesis: Upload classroom recordings, lesson plans, observer notes, and student work from across the year. Sibme searches for evidence of instructional practice across each domain of your Framework — T-TESS, Danielson, Marzano, STeLLA, or district-custom rubrics — and produces a summative report with performance level ratings, evidence citations, and targeted next steps.

        • Professional Practice Summative Synthesis: Upload recordings and artifacts from board meetings, leadership team sessions, training facilitations, administrator meetings, or committee reviews. Sibme searches for evidence of effective practice across your Framework's domains and produces a summative report sized to the individual or group under review.

        • Coaching Conversation Summative Synthesis: Upload coaching session recordings, agendas, debriefs, and follow-up logs. Sibme searches for evidence of effective coaching practice — not the coachee's — across multiple sessions and produces a Framework-aligned summative report for coaching supervisors and heads of coaching.

        • PLC Practice Summative Synthesis: Upload meeting recordings, common assessment data, student work, instructional response plans, and team norms from a full cycle, semester, or school year. Sibme searches for evidence of effective collaborative inquiry and produces a standards-aligned summative report for PLC coaches and instructional leaders.

  • AI Reports

    • Generic Teacher Choice in the Teacher Picker

      • When picking a Teacher for AI Reports — both in Huddles and Account-Wide — you'll now see a generic Teacher option in the picker. Selecting Teacher assigns the role to whoever is speaking the most in the recording. This is helpful when you don't need to identify a specific User.

Mobile

  • Favorites Upgrade

    • Favorites on Artifact Tiles

      • The favorites star on Artifact tiles now shows how many people have favorited the Artifact. The star can be grey (you haven't favorited it) or yellow (you have) and appears next to a number that reflects everyone with access who has starred it. A regular tap on the star still favorites or unfavorites the Artifact. This same behavior applies to both Media and Resources.

        • Tap and hold the star pill to open the Favorited modal showing the list of Users who have favorited the Artifact, with Avatars and names. Swipe up to view the full list.

    • Favorites on the Video Page

      • The same favorites pill is now available on the Video page below the Video on the right. The number only appears once at least one User has favorited the Video. Tap and hold to view the list of Users who have favorited it.

    • Favorites in Document Commenting

      • Document Commenting Resources now use the same favorites pill, so favoriting works consistently across all Artifact types. The same three states apply: not favorited, favorited by you, or favorited by others without you.

  • Document Commenting Replies

    • New Reply Layout

      • Replies in Document Commenting now follow the same indented layout used on the Video page and in 3-Pane. Replies are indented up to 2 levels deep, with a thicker bar marking each reply's level. Each reply shows the User's name, the comment annotation, the marker tag color dot, and review status, followed by the date/time, who was replied to, like count, and the Reply button. The Reply button has been enlarged to make it easier to tap.

    • Comment Editing Improvements

      • When you edit a comment, the text box now shows a clear Edit Comment header with an 'X' to cancel — canceling takes you back to the comment without a warning. The comment time appears in blue at the bottom right of the text box. A comment that's been edited is now tagged with - edited at the end, the same way it appears in Chat. The text box also expands upward as you type, growing past the top of the screen if needed.

    • Comments Pane Full-Screen

      • The ability to swipe the comments pane up to take it full-screen is preserved. Tap '˅' or swipe back down to bring the Resource back up.
