Any user has the option to record an observation with the Sibme iOS and Android apps while simultaneously scripting notes from their laptop via the Sibme web version. After you stop the recording from your Sibme iOS or Android app, the video will automatically upload to the Workspace and the notes will automatically sync at the appropriate time-stamp on the video timeline.

Who is this article for?

Based on the default user settings in the Sibme platform, you should have permission to complete this task if you are one of the user levels listed below. If you do not see the screens in this article, you can ask your administrator if you have permission.

  • Super Admin

  • Account Owner

Steps to accomplish the task:

To start your synced observation, log in to the Sibme iOS or Android app on your phone or tablet.

NOTE: If you are recording from your iPhone or Android phone, we recommend that you disable your data plan by turning on airplane mode and connect to the wifi of the location you are completing your observation. You must be connected to wifi to record a synced observation. You can also use a hotspot connection to complete a synced observation.

Next, on your Workspace, click the green plus button and choose Start Synced Notes from the options.

After you’ve started recording the observation, if you have not already done so, log into app.sibme.com. To save time, you can log in on the web app from your laptop before you start the recording process from your iOS or Android device.

Click the live recording link in your recent activity area on your dashboard to access the live scripting area in your Workspace.

You can begin typing and adding your comments, tags, and framework standards when you access this screen.

When you have ended your observation, tap the "stop" button to stop the recording on your iOS or Android device.

The video will save to “offline videos” and automatically upload to your Workspace.

Lastly, once the video has been uploaded successfully, you have the option to make any edits to the comments you added or change the location of the time stamp.
