Understanding Copilot Framework Results: No Transcript, Insufficient Evidence and Not Rateable | Sibme Help Center

What Copilot's framework messages mean and how to get fuller, more accurate ratings.

Written by TJ Hoffman

When you run a framework analysis in Copilot, some indicators may come back with a message instead of a rating. This article explains what each message means and what you can do to get a fuller result.

Who Is This Article For?

This article is for anyone running framework analysis with Copilot. It applies to these User levels:

  • User

  • Admin

  • Super Admin

  • Account Owner

How Copilot Reads a Recording

Copilot works from the transcript of your recording plus any documents you attach as context, such as a lesson plan, your notes or scanned student work. It does not watch the video picture. Anything that happens without being said aloud, like a student quietly sharpening a pencil or a well-organized room, won't reach Copilot unless it's in your notes.

"No Transcript Found"

Copilot can't analyze a recording that has no transcript yet.

  • Make sure the recording has finished uploading. If you recorded on a phone or iPad, check that it isn't still in the app's Offline tab.

  • Open the recording and check the Transcript. If it's empty, open the ⋯ menu and choose Re-run Transcript.

  • Wait for the transcript to finish, then run the prompt again.

"Insufficient Evidence" or "Not Rateable"

Copilot found nothing in the transcript or attachments that speaks to that indicator. This is common for:

  • Planning and preparation indicators, which happen before the lesson.

  • Short walkthroughs, which capture only part of a lesson.

  • Recordings where the audio is quiet or student voices are hard to hear.

To give Copilot more to work with, attach the lesson plan and your observation notes, scan any student work, and check the context boxes so they're included. Then run the prompt again.

"N/A – No Performance Levels Defined"

The framework has no performance levels set up, so Copilot has no scale to rate against. An Admin can add performance levels to the framework. See Use Performance Levels with Your Rubrics and Frameworks.

Checking Domains Doesn't Narrow the Analysis

Copilot always analyzes against the full framework, even if you check only some domains. To focus on one area, run the analysis and then ask a follow-up in the chat, for example: "Show me the evidence for indicator 2.4 only."

If a Rating Looks Wrong

Treat Copilot's ratings as a starting point for your professional judgment. If something looks off, ask Copilot to reassess and tell it what to ignore or reconsider, for example: "Reassess Domain 3 without counting the pencil sharpening at 12:40." Copilot also uses your attached lesson plan, so if it seems to be rating the plan rather than the lesson, uncheck the lesson plan and run it again.
