Script In-Person Observations Without Video in Your Workspace

Sibme allows you to conduct and document in-person observations directly in your private Workspace, even without recording a video. Using Notes, you can add time-stamped feedback during an observation and tag your notes with custom video markers or standards/competencies from your embedded rubric or framework.

Once your Scripted Notes are complete, you can share them to a Huddle, making them accessible to other participants. Sharing your notes in a Huddle also links the observation’s analytics to the participants in that Huddle.

Who Is This Article For?

By default, you should have permission to perform this task if you are one of the following user levels:

If you do not see the options described here, ask your administrator to enable Scripted Notes for you. Permissions can be granted by Account Owners or Super Admins in Account Settings or under the People tab for individual users.

How to Perform a Scripted Observation

Follow these steps to create and share Notes:

1. Start a Scripted Observation

  • Navigate to your Workspace.

  • Click the green + button in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  • Select Start Notes from the menu.

2. Begin Observing and Taking Notes

  • Click the green Start button to begin the observation.

  • The observation title will default to the observation date, but you can edit it if needed.

  • While observing, add notes, apply custom marker tags, and tag standards/competencies from your embedded framework.

3. Stop and Save Your Notes

  • When you finish observing, click the yellow Stop button.

  • Your notes will automatically save to your Workspace.

4. Review and Share Your Notes

  • You can review your notes, email them to your coachee, or export them as a PDF or Excel file.

  • Once satisfied, share your Notes to a Huddle. Sharing them in a Huddle ensures that other participants can view the notes and associate the observation’s analytics with the Huddle.
