Sibme does its best to keep you notified when activity happens on our platform that might interest you, but there are times that you might not want to receive an email notification. You can customize what email notifications you want to receive or not in your User Settings.

Who is this article for?

Based on the default user settings in the Sibme platform, you should have permission to complete this task if you are one of the user levels listed below. If you do not see the screens in this article, you can ask your Sibme account administrator if you have permission.

  • Users

  • Admin

  • Super Admin

  • Account Owner

Steps to accomplish the task:

By default, all notification categories are turned on for Users when their Account is created.

To turn off receiving email notifications, Click User Settings from the menu found by clicking your name in the upper right-hand corner.

Next, click on the Notifications tab.

The page is broken down into 2 areas, Account-Wide Notifications on the left and Huddle-Specific Notifications on the right.

Changing a setting on the Account-Wide Notifications will turn off notifications for ALL activities that happen in the Account, including all Huddles in the Account.

Additionally, if you are in multiple accounts, you have the option to apply the same notification settings across ALL your accounts like so.

If you want to control notifications for a specific Huddle or multiple Huddles, then you will change the settings in the Huddle Specific Notifications on the right.

Account-Wide Notifications

To change notification settings Account-Wide, you first either need to choose the Account from the drop-down menu (if you participate in more than one) OR check the box “Apply settings to all accounts”, which will change the settings for ALL the Accounts you are in. (If you are only in 1 Account, then you will not have the Account drop-down OR the box to check to change settings for all accounts.)

The top section, Account Notifications, handles notifications for activities OUTSIDE a Huddle.

This might include videos or resources you uploaded to your Workspace, any Goal notifications, etc. Unchecking any of the boxes next to a category will turn off email notifications for that function. You can uncheck ALL Account Notifications by clicking the Clear All button at the top of the column.

The bottom section, Huddle Notifications, handles notifications for activities that happen in a Huddle.

Changing a setting here will turn off notifications for ALL Huddles in the chosen account. Notifications like being notified when a video or Resource is uploaded to a Huddle, a new comment to a video or Resource, or a new post to a discussion, etc. can be turned off in this section.

Unchecking any of the boxes next to a category will turn off email notifications for that function for ALL Huddles. You can uncheck ALL Account Notifications by clicking the Clear All button at the top of the column.

Huddle Specific Notifications

If you would like to control what notifications you receive for a specific Huddle, then you will be changing settings under the Huddle Specific Notifications on the right.

Please be aware that any changes made to a specific or group of Huddles will override any Account level settings you may have made on the left side of the screen.

To get started, choose the Account that the Huddle is in. (If you are in only 1 Account, you will not need to choose an Account.) Then choose the Huddle you would like to change the settings for.

Once the Huddle has been selected, then you can uncheck any category of notifications to discontinue receiving email notifications on those events. You can now select another Huddle and change their settings.

Please be aware that if the Huddle has a green dot next to it, it means that the Huddle has already had its settings changed.

If you would like to reset the Huddle Specific settings for ALL Huddles, then click the “Set Huddle notifications to Account-Wide notifications” button at the bottom of the section. Then choose OK on the Confirmation Required pop-up.

Once you are done setting either your Account-Wide or Huddle-Specific Notifications settings, be sure to click the green “Save Changes” at the bottom right of the screen.
