Home screen components
The very first time you log into Sibme, your Home Screen will likely look like this. To begin, click on your Workspace, Huddles, or Goals from the top menu to start creating and discussing artifacts of learning!
Or...expand the left panel on the home screen to access the Sibme Academy to learn more about how Sibme works!
Once you start working in Sibme
You will see all media (videos, audio files), resources (any non-media file), Goal Action Items, and Forms in the similarly labeled sections on your home Screen.
At the top of the home screen, you will see buttons that will take you to each section. Click one of these buttons to take you to the section to review items.
The newest items display first. In each section, you can scroll from the left to right to load additional items:
To begin reviewing and discussing any item, just click on it! To return home, simply click the "Home" button at the top of the screen!
Messages
The Messages Section of your home screen compiles every comment, chat message, goal comment, or discussion post in your Workspace, Goals, and Huddles. This makes it easy to stay up to date on what people are talking about in your account and join the conversation from a central location! To filter by a particular message type, simply click one of the buttons at the top of the column:
You can also filter by your most recent messages, or click "Unread" or "Mention" to see messages you have not yet seen or have been mentioned in:
Clicking a message will open the artifact or post where the message exists. You may still have to scroll to find the actual message.
Left Bar
The left side of the Home Screen gives you access to the Sibme Academy, the edTPA portfolio submission system, and our mobile applications for iOS and Android. Click each item to access it. Clicking the mobile apps will open a QR code for you to scan so you can easily download the app on your mobile device!
Configuring and Filtering your Home Screen
By default, your Home Screen displays everything in your Sibme Account. If you want to see items and conversations that are only happening in certain spaces, click the "Workspace" Goals" or "Huddles" buttons. You can also click the arrow next to Huddles to further filter by different Huddle Types.
If you have added Favorite Stars to certain artifacts in your account, you can click "Starred" to only display your favorite items. The Status button allows you to review items by status:
Not Started: artifacts that have not been viewed, action items that have not been started, forms that have been assigned but are not started.
In Progress: artifacts that have been partially viewed, action items that have been started but are not marked done, forms that are started but have not been submitted
Completed: videos and audio files that have been completely viewed to the end, action items that are marked done, forms that have been submitted.
Click the Gear Icon to configure your home screen.
Configuration Options
Time: this allows you to filter by artifacts and messages that have been added to your Sibme account in the date range listed. Goal Action Items and Forms that are Due in this date range will display. Action Item and Form Due Dates will display for a range both backwards and forwards. For example, in the screenshot above, Action Items and Forms that are due a month ago all the way to a month from now would display in your Home Screen.
Page Sections: You can hide certain sections from your Home Screen by toggling the "Visible" toggle. You can click and drag the three lines for each section up and down to reorder the sections on your Home Screen.
