Once a Process has been assigned to you as an Observee, you have a place to work from. That place is the Observee dashboard — a list of every Step in your Process, who handles each one, and where each one stands. You can see the full picture of the Observation at a glance and open any Step you are ready to act on.
This article covers what the Observee dashboard shows and how to move around it: the Process dropdown, the legend, the Step table and its columns, and how to open a Step to work on it or view its description. Who Is This Article For?
The Observee dashboard is for anyone assigned as an Observee on a Process — the person whose practice is being observed. An Observee can be any User level. Once you've been assigned, the Process appears on your dashboard automatically; there's nothing to set up. If you expected to see a Process here and it isn't showing, ask your administrator whether you've been assigned as an Observee.

Open Your Observee Dashboard
From the left navigation, open Observations. Your dashboard appears with the blue Observee title at the top.
Two controls sit at the top of the dashboard:
As Observer / As Observee tabs — the As Observee tab is the view this article covers. If you are also assigned as an Observer on other Processes, an As Observer tab appears next to it. That side is covered in Your Observations Dashboard: Observer View | Sibme Help Center. If you are not currently assigned as an Observee on any Process, the As Observee tab does not appear.
Manage Processes > — if you also build or manage Processes, this button takes you to the Process management area. Use < Observations to return to your dashboard.
Select a Process
The Observation Process dropdown at the top of the dashboard lists every Process where you are assigned as an Observee. Select one to load its Steps. To view a different Process, open the dropdown and choose another.
The Legend
A legend sits to the right of the Process dropdown so you can read the dots in the Step list at a glance. It has two parts.
Who the Step is for:
Observer — a plain colored circle means only the Observer works on this Step.
Observee — a circle with a ring inside means only you, the Observee, work on this Step.
Both — a circle with a + inside means both you and the Observer take part in this Step.
Where the Step stands:
Not Started — no one has begun this Step yet.
In Progress — the Step has been started but isn't finished.
Waiting — the Step is waiting on someone else before you can act.
Done Late — the Step was completed after its due date.
Done — the Step is complete.
Each dot in the Step list combines both pieces of information: the shape shows who the Step is for, and the color shows where it stands.
Note: If a Process is configured so that you should not see a particular Step, no dot appears for it in your list — that Step simply will not show up.
Read Your Step List
The Steps for the selected Process appear in a table with these columns.
Steps — the name of the Step. A Main-Step that contains Sub-Steps appears as a header with its Sub-Steps listed beneath it. Each Sub-Step has its own status dot and row.
Status — a colored dot showing the Step's role (by shape) and status (by color). The dot is display-only; to open a Step, click the step name or anywhere on the row — see Open a Step below.
Max Val — the maximum possible score for the Step. Shows "–" if not applicable to that Step.
Avg PL — the average Performance Level from Framework rubric scoring, when applicable. Shows "–" if not applicable. Max Val and Avg PL each appear only when at least one Step in the Process uses that type of scoring.
Undone — if your Observer marked a Step Undone and sent it back to you, a ? icon appears here. Click the ? to open the Why Undone? panel, which shows the notes your Observer wrote explaining why the Step needs to be redone. The panel is read-only. A dash means the Step has not been marked Undone.
Description — an abbreviated preview of the Step description.
Open a Step
To open the Step's work screen: click the step name or anywhere on the row other than the > or Description text. What you see depends on the Step type:
Observee step — opens the Evidence collection page or Form where you complete your work.
Both step, your turn — opens your portion of the Step so you can act on it.
Both step, Observer's turn — opens the Step, but shows: Waiting on Observer! You'll be able to complete your part of this Step after the Observer's part is finished. You cannot act until the Observer completes their portion.
Observer step, past Not Started — opens a view of what the Observer has done, so you can follow the Observation's progress. Observer steps at Not Started are not clickable.

See a Step's Description
To view the full Step description: click the > at the right end of any row, or click the Description text. A panel slides in from the right showing the complete description and any associated Artifact icons. Click × to close it.
