Once a video is recorded on a mobile device and uploaded to Sibme, Users can have that video automatically deleted off their device. This can save valuable storage space on a User’s personal device.

Who is this article for?

Based on the default user settings in the Sibme platform, you should have permission to complete this task if you are one of the user levels listed below. If you do not see the screens in this article, you can ask your Sibme account administrator if you have permission.

  • Users

  • Admin

  • Super Admin

  • Account Owner

Steps to accomplish the task:

By default, Auto-Delete is automatically enabled in every Account. If an Account Owner or Super Admin would like to change that setting, they can go to Account Settings > General Settings to make the change.

* Please be aware that there is also a choice to force Auto-Delete on a User’s personal device. This option removes the choice from the User and forces it on for all Users in an Account. This is not turned on by default.

For the Individual User, the choice to Auto-Delete is disabled by default. Any User that would like to turn this feature on will need to go to each device and turn it on for each device. For both Android and iOS, the option to enable Auto-Delete on a device can be found on the Video Settings page.

On Android, click on the hamburger icon in the top left corner and select Video Settings. After you enable Auto-Delete, you will receive a warning message outlining the details of when videos will be deleted from your offline videos. Click OK to accept these changes.

Auto-Delete is a great way to conserve storage space on a mobile device by deleting videos off the device after the video has been uploaded to Sibme successfully.
