The power of Sibme happens when Users record themselves and share with others. The easiest way to record a video is on a mobile device, and it is super easy to record using the Sibme mobile app.

Who is this article for?

Based on the default user settings in the Sibme platform, you should have permission to complete this task if you are one of the user levels listed below. If you do not see the screens in this article, you can ask your Sibme account administrator if you have permission.

  • Users

  • Admin

  • Super Admin

  • Account Owner

Steps to accomplish the task:

Before you begin recording, navigate to the location where you want to upload your video (your Workspace or in a Huddle). Once you are there, tap the green ‘+’ button and choose Record Video. In the screenshot below, we will record a video in the Workspace.

You cannot record in portrait mode within Sibme because landscape mode enables a better viewing experience on the web. As requested, turn your device to landscape mode.

Once your phone is in landscape mode, hit the red record button to begin recording.

Here’s a downloadable Quick Start Guide on how to record and share your video in the Sibme Mobile App to keep handy:

If you have turned on “Auto-Delete Video After Upload”, then once your video has been successfully uploaded to Sibme, it will be deleted off your device. If you have NOT turned on “Auto-Delete Video After Upload”, then your video will be uploaded to Sibme AND stored in your Offline area on your device. You can delete the video off your device by going to Offline and deleting them there.

That’s it. Happy recording!!!

Additional Note:

You do not need to use Wi-fi or your data plan to record from the Sibme iOS or Android device; however, you do need to be logged into the app to start recording. Once you are logged in you can disable Wi-fi and/or your data plan. The easiest way to do this is to turn on Airplane mode while you are recording.

When you are recording, if you do not turn on Airplane Mode, if you receive calls during a video recording, the video will pause when you receive a call. After you complete or dismiss the call, you can resume the video by hitting the record button again.

Additionally, if you receive notifications on your device while recording from any other app, including text messages, you can dismiss the notification and the recording will not be interrupted. You can also long tap on a text message to reply in the preview and your video will not be interrupted. If you leave the Sibme app while recording to open any other app from a notification, your video will be paused. You can resume the recording by returning to the Sibme app and hitting the record button again.

Recording offline does prevent calls from disrupting your recordings on your iOS or Android phones. Additionally, you have the option to turn off your cellular data plan in "Video Settings" to avoid data plan charges when uploading and streaming video.

After you are done recording, you can turn on your Wi-fi or use your data plan to upload videos to the Sibme cloud.
