Mentioning Users in the Sibme platform is a great way to increase User engagement as well as improve collaboration and communication around videos and resources. When a User is mentioned, they will receive a notification in the Sibme app if they are logged in. Additionally, users will receive an email letting them know they have been mentioned.

Who is this article for?

Based on the default user settings in the Sibme platform, you should have permission to complete this task if you are one of the user levels listed below. If you do not see the screens in this article, you can ask your Sibme account administrator if you have permission.

  • Users

  • Admin

  • Super Admin

  • Account Owner

Steps to accomplish the task:

The Basics of Mentioning

To mention a User in a video comment, just type the ‘@’ character and a list of Users who can be mentioned will be shown.

You can either continue to type the User’s name or you can select from the list.

Once the User to be mentioned is chosen, it will appear in blue to show that they were mentioned. You can then continue your comment or mention other Users.

Mentioning and Huddles

While mentioning other users is available in Assessment, Coaching, and Collaboration Huddles, permissions and settings differ by Huddle type.

Assessment Huddles

In Assessment Huddles, Assessees can only mention the Assessors of the Huddle. They may not mention other Assessees. An Assessor will be able to mention the Assessee who owns the Artifact as well as the other Assessors in the Huddle. There is no way to mention other Users who are not Participants in the Assessment Huddle.

Coaching Huddles

For Coaching Huddles, only the members of the Coaching Huddle will be able to mention each other. There will not be a way to mention Users that are not members of the Coaching Huddle.

Collaboration Huddles

There are 2 new Collaboration Huddle settings that control who can mention Users who are not Participants in the Huddle. These 2 new settings can be found under More Huddle Settings from the Huddle setup screen. If non-Participants are allowed to be mentioned then they will also become Members of the Huddle. Details can be found in the Help Article called “Mentions Settings in Collaboration Huddles.”

Notifications for Mentions

When a User is mentioned, they will receive both an email and in-app notifications. There are also new areas in the platform and in the mobile apps where a User will be notified if they were mentioned.

If a User is a member of multiple Accounts, then when they go to their Account Landing Page, they will see which Accounts they were mentioned in and how many new mentions they have.

Once the User has chosen an Account, they will now have a Mentions tab next to Recent Activity and they will have a bell icon in the menu bar at the top right that will show where a User was mentioned.

Finally, a User will also be notified on their mobile app if they were mentioned. Tapping on the mention will take the User in the mobile app to where they were mentioned.
