In a Parent/Child account setup, people can be members of any combination of accounts within the hierarchy. If the Account Owner of the Parent account is also in a child account, they will have access to that child account according to their user role in the child account. With a few exceptions, all account management for a Child Account must take place by navigating to the Child Account from the Launchpad and making the changes in the Child Account directly.

Who is this article for?

Based on the default user settings in the Sibme platform, you should have permission to complete this task if you are one of the user levels listed below. If you do not see the screens in this article, you can ask your administrator if you have permission.

  • Account Owner

User Roles

The Parent Account Owner will have the ability to manage as much of the child account as their user-role in the child account allows. If the Parent Account Owner is also Account Owner for the Child Account, they will have the same permissions in all accounts and can make all changes in each account. However, if the Parent Account Owner has another user-role in the Child Accounts, the changes they can make in the child account, including people management, huddle management, and account settings, will be limited by the permissions for the role they have in the Child Account.

Account Settings that can be set globally from the Parent Account

The Account Owner for the Parent account can author and edit rubrics from the Parent Account and make them available in all Child Accounts.

The Account Owner for the Parent account can set the Video Library in the Parent Account to duplicate in the Video Libraries for all Child Accounts. When videos are added to the Parent Account Video Library, and this setting is enabled, the videos will be available in all Child Accounts as well.

The Account Owner can view Child Account analytics from the Parent Account Analytics Dashboard.

With the exception of the three settings mentioned above, all other account management for Child Accounts must be done by navigating to the Child Account from the Launchpad and then making the changes in the Child Account directly.
