Sibme Goals grants you space in the Sibme Platform to create, manage, and track progress towards Goals and Action Items. Once you have created Goals and Action Items, you and your team will be able to attach Evidence and provide a Reflection for an Action Item. Goals can be created for Individuals, Groups, or all Account users as well as Template Goals that can be used at a later date. Collaborators can also be added to Goals who can help with the details of the Goal, add Evidence to the Goal, or Review a Goal.

The unique thing about Sibme Goals is that Evidence is used to further inform conversations around professional growth. A user can attach videos, Huddles, resources, scripted notes, or frameworks to an Action Item. These pieces of Evidence then inform the conversation in a Goal between the Goal’s Owners, Collaborators, and Reviewers.

Terminology

Individual Goals: Individual Goals are unique to each user. You can create copies of individual goals for multiple users at once, but each user will work on an Individual Goal by themselves.

Group Goals: Groups of people in your account can work together on a Group Goal. Group Goals allow multiple people to be Goal Owners of the same goal.

Template Goals: Template Goals are not actually goals that can be worked on by people in your account. You can create Template Goals to define the rules and required Action Items for a template that can then be used by multiple people in your account as the basis for Individual, Group, and Account Goals. A Template Goal can be used repeatedly year after year as desired.

Each Goal has two types of Roles:

Goal Owner: Goal Owners are the people who the goal is “tracked” for. In other words, the Goal belongs to the Goal Owner and all evidence and progress is attributable to the Goal Owner(s) for a Goal.

Collaborator: Collaborators can help create, provide evidence, or review and give feedback on the Goal or Action Item, based on the privileges they are granted.

Goals in Sibme have 4 parts:

Goals: This is the overall name and description for a goal.

Action Items: These will be the actual steps you complete to mark progress towards your goal.

Evidence: This allows you to attach videos, resources, URLs, Huddles, Scripted Notes, and Frameworks to each action item for discussion and to show progress towards a Goal’s Action Items.

Measurement: You can choose to define numerical metrics that help you measure your progress. You will choose a start value and end value for measurement while creating Action Items (optional) and then enter values while working on Goals to measure progress.

Creating Goals:

You can create Goals for individuals, groups, for all users in the account, or as a template to be used later. Individual Goals, even if given to multiple users, will be assigned to and completed by 1 user. A Group Goal is a goal given to multiple users to be completed together. The Goal Owners in a Group Goal share the responsibility of providing Evidence and giving a Reflection. An Account Goal will be an individual Goal given to everyone in the account to complete individually. Finally, a Template is a Goal that is not assigned to a Goal Owner at the time of creation but can be given to users or groups at a future date and can be reused multiple times.

Creating Action Items:

Action Items are the steps a user must take to complete a goal. Either Evidence or a Reflection must be used by an Owner to show how they completed their Action Item. The Evidence a user provides could take the form of a video, Huddle, resource, scripted notes, or frameworks. Action Items can also be measured numerically through Measurements. All Action Items have a due date within the date range of the Goal so that those Action Items can be staggered over a period of time.

Adding Evidence:

As mentioned above, the Evidence provided to show Action Item completion can take many forms. Please be aware that Evidence MUST ALREADY BE present in either your workspace or a Huddle for it to be able to be added to an Action Item. Once the Evidence has been uploaded, then it can be attached to an Action Item. If a Measurement is set as Evidence for an Action Item, then a user can enter the value (percentage or numerical) as necessary and can be repeated during the duration of the Action Item.

Evidence for an Action Item also might involve posting a Reflection. This is a chance for the user to give a reflection on what they learned through working on an Action Item, what growth they still need to make, or why they attached the Evidence they attached, for example. Please be aware that a User must attach either a piece of Evidence, enter a Measurement, or post a Reflection for an Action Item to be able to be marked Complete. Only after ALL Action Items have been marked complete can a Goal be considered completed.

Reviewing an Action Item:

Once a User has marked an Action Item complete, a user with Reviewer rights may then go in and assess the Action Item. A Reviewer may look at all Evidence and the Reflection attached to an Action Item as well as provide feedback to the User. A Reviewer may also, depending on the Account Settings, unmark an Action Item complete so a user may continue to work on the Action Item. This is a great way for the Reviewer and the User to have a conversation around the Evidence/Measurement given for an Action Item.

Goal Settings and Privileges:

Account Owners can customize settings and privileges for Goals in Account Settings. In addition to customizing settings, Account Owners can also change the following terms in your account:

  • Goal

  • Action Item

  • Evidence

  • Measurement

TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GOAL SETTINGS, CLICK HERE.

Privileges in Goals are based on an individual’s User Role as well as their Role within the Goal (Owner and/or Collaborator).

By default, the Account Owner and Super Admin can see a list of all Goals created in the account and the overall progress towards each goal. However, only Goal Owners and Collaborators can see individual Action Items and related Evidence, Reflection, Feedback and Measurement for each Goal.
